Timed Hall Entry TIMED HALL ENTRY - TICKETS INCLUDE ACCESS TO THE HALL & GARDENS Begun in 1595 by Robert Smythson, one of England’s foremost Elizabethan Architects, Doddington Hall was completed in 1600 and has never been sold or cleared out since. An example of a fine late Elizabethan Mansion, it is still a lived-in and much loved family home, alive with history and interest. Over 400 years of unbroken family occupation has resulted in fascinating collections of furniture, weaponry, paintings, ceramics, textiles, household objects, porcelain and a wealth of amusing stories all to be found in and around Doddington Hall. A visit to Doddington offers a unique insight into family life through the ages and the challenges of looking after such an estate in the 21st century. Tickets are timed and we recommend pre-booking your preferred time slot to guarantee entry. You will need to show a copy of your e-ticket when entering via the Gatehouse. Our 12noon slot includes a 45 minute mini tour of the Hall at no additional charge. If you'd like a tour, please ensure you select this time slot. Free entry applies for Doddington Hall Season Ticket Holders and Historic Houses members. 50% off for Art Fund and 2 for 1 CPRE are accepted for the Hall. Please select the relevant ticket type. Valid cards must be shown at the Gatehouse along with e-tickets prior to entry. You are welcome to arrive and explore the Gardens anytime between 10am-4pm on the day of your visit. (Last entry to the Gardens 3pm). Please note that you are only able to gain entry into the Hall at your pre-booked time slot. Please make your way to the front of the Hall no earlier than two minutes before your allocated time to ensure entry. You will then be called through by a member of staff and be able to enjoy exploring the Hall. Uniform Collection Tour start:10:30 We invite you to view the MC Tsen Military Uniform Collection. Discover 900 military uniforms and 3,000 accessories – from drums to dirks; swords to sporrans; buttons to boots, there is more than the eye can take in at once. The stunning exhibits are testament to one man’s passion for military history and craftsmanship. Enjoy a guided tour of the fascinating collection, housed in a purpose built space above the Doddington Farm Wagon Collection. The tour will last approx. 1 hour. Adults (16yrs+) only - tours are not suitable for children. Free of charge, donations to the Doddington Hall Conservation Charity are welcome. Wine Round Table Series start:19:00 Discover wine on a deeper level with our Wine Round Table Series at Doddington Wine Shop, hosted by the brilliant Johnny Bingham from Delibo Wines. This special series takes place over three evening sessions, designed for those who would like to explore wine in more depth. More interactive and immersive than our usual wine evenings, these round-table tastings encourage conversation, questions and shared discovery in a relaxed group setting. Each evening dives into different themes, styles or regions, with time to really explore what’s in the glass, why wines taste the way they do, how they’re made and how to choose wines with confidence. Johnny’s engaging and knowledgeable approach makes these sessions both informative and enjoyable. Session 1: 21 May - Deep dive into Riesling Session 2: 19 August - It's all French Session 3: 19 November - Heavyweights for the festive season Book all three evenings as a series and enjoy a discounted price of £25.
